Coach Andrew Baker
Andrew ran varsity track (1600m, 3200m) and cross country in Indiana before switching to the water and rowing crew for the University of Notre Dame. After a few road marathons and some gnarly trail races, he began coaching through Si View Parks and spent a season with the SMS Eagles, before being called up to the show with Mount Si. Andrew holds USATF Level 1, Level 2 Sports Science, Altis Endurance Events, and UESCA coaching certifications, offering his services exclusively through B.E.A.R. club. Andrew is honored to coach several promising runners in the Snoqualmie Valley and looks forward to many seasons of individual records, personal triumphs and team victories ahead.
Testimonials
“The only thing that sizzles more than Andrew's coaching prowess is the legendary man bun perched atop his head, a beacon of style in the sea of sweatbands and running caps. This man bun isn't just a hairstyle; it's a symbol of wisdom, each strand seemingly infused with the secrets of marathon gods. Whether you're a fresh-legged newbie who gets winded chasing the ice cream truck or a seasoned marathoner with calves of steel, Andrew is your go-to guru. His coaching technique? A blend of ancient running lore, modern science, and what I suspect to be motivational speeches borrowed from sports movies. And let's not forget the personalized playlists that somehow make you want to run through walls (or at least a couple of extra miles). If you're considering taking your running game from "meh" to "marathon-ready," Andrew, with his mystical man bun and Jedi-like coaching skills, is the only choice. Trust me, under his guidance, you'll not only hit your stride but possibly even develop an emotional attachment to hill sprints.”
“Andrew’s responsiveness and collaboration are unmatched. His guidance allows me to make smart adjustments, feeling supported and successful.”
“Andrew’s focus on functional mobility and realistic programming not only helped me reach my goals, but also ensured I did so pain-free. He has the ability to motivate and challenge me in exactly the right way. I couldn’t be more grateful for his leadership.”
